The Labradoodle is a well-established and well-understood
cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle, first
bred in Australia in the 1970s for people with allergies. As
a trainable working dog with temperament and coat
characteristics that make it suitable for all kinds of
applications and environments, it quickly became popular.
Labradoodles come in three sizes (Miniature, Medium and
Standard), 8 coat colors and 3 coat types! They
make excellent, loving, child-friendly pets and
are happy companions with an irresistibly cheeky and
playful quality. They are caring, intuitive and friendly.
They love to be part of a family and included in activities and
given plenty of exercise: if left on their own too long they
will quickly become bored (and possibly destrictive) and pine
for company.
They vary in size from 12" to 28" and from 10kg to 40kg, so
you will need to think carefully about the size of dog which
will suit you best.
