For a dog this substance is very poisonous and dangerous, the oxygen uptake in organs is reduced. The brain and heart are extra sensitive to this substance, your dog can get short of breath and become in a coma which eventually can lead to death. A piece of pear itself is no problem for a dog. Make sure there is no trace of seeds in the piece of pear you want to give to your dog.
Do I have to go to a vet?
